HOW TO BREATHE IN TIMES OF CRISIS Teach us a Song for Recovery, dear Alga!
Premier 7th of November 7 pm Produktionshaus NAXOS, 9th of November 4 pm, 17th and 18th January ORANGERIE THEATER KÖLN

“For some of us our bodies are the site of oppression. Our bodies are contested territory.”
— Patty Berne (Disability Activist)

Every 26 seconds the Earth vibrates. It is estimated that every three days a person dies from ME/CFS. Each person is responsible for the extraction of 18 kg of sand daily.
In their new work, Malin Harff and Collaborators explore survival in the endless storm — what happens when crisis becomes the norm?

The mixed-abled team searches for multispecies solidarities in systems that were not built for them, investigating the entanglement of the climate crisis, Long Covid (ME/CFS), breathing, and the extraction of sand, the world’s most sought-after resource.

The mixed-abled team links the exhaustion of the planet to the exhaustion of severely disabled bodies due to ME/CFS and Long Covid. Over 400 million people worldwide suffer from this multi-systemic illness, which is described as the medical crisis of our century.

Together with Deep Time, the soprano Algae, and the bass Sand, the band rehearses the pop song of the next million years.

We turn the stage horizontal.
